I think both are good shots.
This one is more interesting from a behind-the-photo point of view. I mean the message it conveys to me is stronger. I see an innocent being reaching out to the unknown. All the curiosity and anxiety and tension of such moments is in there in this shot. Maybe these are not the right words but I hope you understand what I mean. :)
