The walled city is a four kilometres circuit. I think we walked them at least twice. The ramparts were very interesting with amazing views, lots of steps and a little bit of shade. Walking between the double curtain walls was much dustier and hotter. But getting lost on the embankment on the way home meant we had to clamber down a steep slope (aka goat track_ - that is when I lost the plot with the map-reader! I needed a wine or three after I recovered.
