We had the first ANZAC service ever held at our local Linkwater Memorial Hall. We expected about 40 people to attend but we had 150+ people turn up. Thankfully the Rural Women, Mahakipawa branch, helped us with the catering. Our committee has been upgrading the frontage included this stonework cenotaph made from locally sourced stone, and installing a flagpole.
It is wonderful when the planning and hard work are supported by the local community.
