We got to touch a Tuatara!

Tuatara are rare, medium-sized reptiles found only in New Zealand. They are the last survivors of an order of reptiles that thrived in the age of the dinosaurs. The male has a distinctive crest of spines running along the neck and down the back, which he can fan out to attract females or when fighting with other males. The colour of tuatara ranges from olive green to brown to orange-red, and they can change colour over their lifetime. They shed their skin once per year. (Thanks wikipedia)
They are fascinating 'living fossils'

@dkbarnett Thanks Delwyn although the lighting was quite difficult I managed to adjust the balance a little bit in editing. It felt amazingly cool to the touch too.

An incredible reptile - how good that you could touch him. Those spines on the back really do make him look like something from the age of dinosaurs.
