Clarity assured on black. In the light of the early morning rising sun another couple of aussie icons, the kookaburras and a butcher bird. I like to think these are (top) Ginger, (middle) Banjo, and (lower) Jaxon from Mist's book as these 3 are often seen in this area in the early morning doing what early birds do (tho both these predator birds can catch and eat quite large prey, kookas eat snakes for example). Thank you for the lovely comments on my photos, so love having you here on my piece of paradise with me.
It's 5.30 am as I upload and I can hear those same 2 kookaburras laughing away right now.
@fr1da it was a very lucky moment to have them positioned that way - both breeds hunt by sitting very still on a vantage point watching for movement of prey to swoop on. So yes they are waiting for the 'worm' that the early bird is reputed to catch :) 'worm' includes just about any small insect/mammal/reptile :)
Love this capture.
