Classic iconic bird for Australia and one of our most beautiful songbirds. They are larger than the butcher bird, do not have the hook at the end of their beak, and feed by walking along grabbing insects and small animals from the ground. The butcher bird tends to catch prey on the wing.
Thank you for the awesome comments and questions on my photos.
He’s very handsome and this is a brilliant capture. You’ve managed to get the light in the eye which isn’t easy when the bird has a black head/face. Well done KG.
