Took a short drive to Rock Hill Orchard planning on a picture of their pumpkin patches. Sadly they were but not letting you to the patches yet. What I didn't realize was they have 135 acres and also grow about ten different types of apples. So along with my pictures I bought home fresh apples I picked right off the trees.
Wow, that is a lot of apples!! A friend of mine who has a small orchard was just telling me they lost their whole crop this year because of the early warm spell and then a late freeze.
@polarvrtx most on the ground are bad and a lot on the tree also are bad. Think the type I picked is at the very end of it's time. People had huge bags filled with golden delicious apples so if I would have walked to them I don't think a would have found a lot on the ground. The poor corn farmers here lost their fields to the extreme hot weather and no rain. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment..
What a great photo, Leslie. The apples look great and bet you enjoyed them. We have a place called Apple Hill in the foothills here and will be heading there soon. I love their apple pies. I just love this sea of apples and have to fav it as it is a gorgeous shot.
