At first, I thought they were lens flares. Then I realized that those tiny smudges were moons--Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. I've heard their names for years but never seen them. Kind of an emotional moment...
Terrific capture and well spotted. I like to do a bit of stargazing but only have a pair of binoculars but still manage to see amazing sights occasionally.
