We watched them walk around for about 15 minutes from our car. A guy on a bicycle surprised them as they started to cross the road and they took to the air, trumpeting their annoyance at being disturbed. These are big birds--the male stood about 5 feet (1.5m) tall.
A bird I’ve tried to photograph many times without a lot of success. Either too far away or too skittish when closer. This is great. An excellent clear shot.
