I park next to this tree in the office parking lot almost everyday. All the leaves were green just a few weeks ago. Today if looks like it's ready for fall or winter!

@cejaanderson Thanks, Jane! The only thing I did to the photo was darken the color just a bit - the tree actually looks like this! I don't know what going on...there are several in the parking lot just like it!

@amandal Thanks. I thought the bark was so interesting...it seems that it turned this way very quickly. There are brown leaves everywhere on the ground (hope the tree is OK!) Yes, I'm a tree hugger...

My daughter has a Sycamore tree, which sheds its bark each year.
I'm not sure if this is the same, but could be - or in the same family.
