Dodger

This is Dodger... not so handsome but a big old teddy bear! He is my grandson's dog. Someone dumped him out near their farm in Iowa and Harry found him in their garage probably 5 years ago. Harry fed him and since then Dodger has considered Harry his owner. Dodger had been hit by a car so he has a limp and after he came to live with Harry, he got kicked in the head by a horse and lost sight in one eye.
Harry's family moved from Iowa to Oklahoma and when Dodger made the trip to Oklahoma, he got sick but refused to get out of the pickup... probably afraid they would leave him. He did get out and pee but didn't wander around like Ruby, the other dog making the trip, and got back in the pickup immediately!
He loves his family and he wanted his picture taken when I took the pictures of the cat in the sunshine!
Awww, he is very handsome and the story of his life is very poignant. Dodger is so fortunate he found a family who loves him and takes care of him. (Animal dumpers make me sad.)

Lovely story Lynn. Some people can be so cruel to animals, glad he has a safe loving home now.

Oh Lynn, what sad story but one with a Happily Ever After Ending for Dodger. So glad he's found a family to love him! We live out in the country so we get people dumping but mostly cats! Thanks for sharing Dodger with us! :)

Dodger has had a hard life; if I tried to tell you what I'd like to do to people who abandon animals, I'd probably get kicked out of the project, so I won't. But I'm so glad that Dodger now has a loving forever home with your wonderful grandson's family! And I'm so glad you are sharing his picture with us.

Dodger sounds like he has lead a very hard life but been blessed with your grandson. I'm a rescue mom to my Cassie and I swear, the ones you rescue know it. This is great shot!! He's smiling just for 365!!
