One of our 4 cats ... the mama was a stray, so terribly skinny so we fed her, she adopted us and gave us 4 kittens last March, only one of which found another home .....so here we are with 4 spoiled rotten cats, mama and 3 of the "kittens". Not long haired beautiful cats like I would have chosen, but there's no way I'm taking them to the animal shelter.
Not cropped, I was using my 100-400 mm lens trying to capture birds. He was outdoors with me and I just happened to get this.
Ohhhh.....so lovely to see this sweet photo. Such a great close-up. Foxy is beautiful - her fur and eyes are such a pretty color. This is a big fav for me!!
I don't blame you for not wanting to take them to a shelter. We had an epidemic of feral cats a few years ago. We caught them and then relocated them. If we'd brought them to a shelter, I think they would have euthanized them. So we found places where they could hunt and have shelter. My husband is highly allergic to cats- what a job to catch 11 of them that were stalking my bird feeder without exposing him too long! Foxy is has fantastic eyes- I'm glad he's got a home with you.
I've simply adored following your wonderful kitty saga! Such a gift that this little family adopted YOU...it works so well that way! (My current photo is with Buttercup who adopted me...by far, not the prettiest cat I've ever had, and she's feeble and had a malformation on her lower lip, but she adores being with us and exudes love...how can we not respond to that...and to give her a California home away from the cold Nova Scotia winter! Too, THANK YOU for mentioning the 100-400 lens image. I'm making a photo trip to Costa Rica in June and the instructor suggests I might want to "rent that lens"... Your photo is simply beautiful, and I think I may just need to add that lens (that I've been thinking about) to my set up! Again, just a beautiful photo!
Now you have four cats to neuter/spay... a costly exercise around here. He is beautiful. We have a local stray that seems to wander around all the neighbours and not stopping to call one place home. Plenty would give him a home if he wanted it. I like how you filled the frame.
@bella_ss Believe me, they were "fixed" the minute they were old enough and mama could be after nursing! The vet gave us the "farm cat special", about 1/2 the price, thank goodness.
