Grave stone

1883 ...
We started searching cemeteries when we got into doing our family genealogy over 30 years ago. Still find it interesting. Never know what you're going to find in the way of tombstones, etc. (I ended up with tick fever about 15 years ago, however, searching for the wording on a baby's headstone - circa 1850. The cemetery wasn't well cared for, and I was lying on the ground trying to read the wording.) Two hours later I thought was going to die. 104 fever, etc. Not the 24 hour flue! Got into urgent care (we were on an RV trip!) 2 1/2 days later, minor surgery to get the little critter out, and my fever immediately dropped to normal. A real experience I don't want again.

@aglennc: oh my goodness!! that must have been very frightening! I do enjoy exploring older cemetaries, quite interesting. my kids think I am weird when I do this though.

@mariaostrowski Yes, our kids (grown!) think we're strange for liking to wander cemeteries.... so do some of our friends. Oh well!!
