This was taken at almost twelve noon before one of the highest tides of the year. It looked quite spectacular watching the speed of the water racing upstream, filling the whole area. Just in case you don't know, this is Widnes Bridge over the Mersey, the building on the right is the Engine House for the old Transporter Bridge. It is normally possible to walk down through that tunnel to reach the shore.
There is a slightly difference view of the river in my other album today.
@taffy Thank you very much Taffy, yes I think I should now I have done 12 months on here now. I will get round to it as soon as I have thought what to put on. Watch this (or that ) space. I live within two miles of the Bridge which is one reason it has featured a few times on here.
@seanoneill Thank you very much Sean and thanks again for the Fav. If you still have those directions I sent you, this was taken from the Promonade about 150 yards upstream from the Mersey Hotel. I went down hoping to see it get right over the Promonade wall which it managed at last months big surge. First time it had done that for many, many years. Did not go down then as it was like a monsoon. This time it was just splashing over now and then.
@katie_anya @roachling @virtualbrownie @elisasaeter @soboy5 Thank you all very much for your very kind comments
