ABOUT TO TAKE FLIGHT

Another of the colour ringed Black Headed Gulls.
This is 217B, I think this was also around earlier in the year.

Nice capture. I think ,however that these gulls are poorly named. I’d call them red footed gulls, myself. :)

Thank you, Joanne. You could but some of the younger ones, sometimes have pale orange or even yellow legs.
They should really be Chocolate Brown Headed Gulls, as close up in good light, summer plumaged adults have a full dark head, which is closer to a chocolate brown than a full deep black.
