Normally, the huge field at the entrance of our village, also called the 'Overschie desert', is populated by two storks only. Today these lost grazers took there place!
Only two weeks ago one of the elephants broke lose (as they did last year in our town) and slid into a ditch. It took emergency workers an hour to get her out.
@shadowdancer Agree! Although these creatures were pretty free at this point and they did seem to enjoy their day off... Sure they don't belong in circuses or zoo's. On the other hand, we don't have any poachers in our country!
Great angle and diagonals. Unusual elephant photo. To be honest, I agree with @shadowdancer and would prefer to see them roaming the plains of Africa. Not used to seeing them surrounded by so much green. Glad they managed to rescue the one from the ditch.
awesome! fav :) an circus truck carrying elephants rolled over outside the holiday unit my family was staying in one time. One of them was trapped underneath the truck for hours, the rest were just milling around on the street. One elephant can produce an incredible amount of dung ;)
