I love Delft and wanted to get to Delftspoort the last time I was there . I took a wrong road and finished up in Shiedam ( spelling may be wrong) Still it was a lovely bike trip.
There you can also see the Delftse Poort, one of the few 'skyscrapers' in Rotterdam. In Holland it's just called the Nationale Nederlanden building, called after the company housing the tower.
Thank you, John and Mek, for reminding me of both the beautiful city of Delft and the great city and port of Rotterdam, both of which we visited in 2012. And giving a pice of architecral history of which I was unaware. Though I have photographed Delftse Poort, the modern skyscraper. As lovers of Holland and visitors to this super country for more than 40 years (!) we had of course visited both previously, more than once, over the years. Hope to visit again!
The Delftsche Poort is in Rotterdam actually. It used to be a city gate which got in the way when traffic grew. They broke it down stone by stone just before the war to move it a few hundred meters but it was never rebuilt after the war. In 2005 they made a reconstruction in steel. In Delft there is, I think, only 1 gate left; the East Gate http://www.delft.nl/delften/Tourists/Discover_Delft/To_see/Architecture/Monuments/East_Gate
The bike ride must have been very nice. Pretty flat landscape between Delft and Schiedam. I hope there was no wind...

Fav, btw!
The effect was done for a theme. I really liked Hiroshi Sugimoto's blurry architectural translations. Check it out: https://www.google.nl/search?q=Hiroshi+Sugimoto+architecture&client=safari&rls=en&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=Rg4uVfHNIsHkaOmBgfAO&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1033&bih=650
