Writer's Block  by mej2011

Writer's Block

A few months ago I kind of became obsessed with the website www.fanfiction.net (yeah, I'm one of those nerds). About a month ago I decided I would try my hand at writing my own fan fiction story, as it had been a really long time since I had done any creative writing. I wrote the first two sections (chapters, whatever) in two days and have been stuck for ideas ever since.
Editing for this photo consisted of Picnik's autofix, and selective color. Then, I went to Photoscape and added cross process high, and antique photo #3 effects. I did not use Picnik's clarify as it left a very annoying halo effect around the pen.
Love the editing on this, Melissa! Hope you get past your writers block!

Oooh, I have to check out that website! I write a lot of travel articles for Globetales, but haven't tried my hand at any online fiction writing....yet. Really like this edit, and yes, hope you get over your block soon. Stephen King's advice is to just sit down every day and force yourself to write. Like it's a job (for him it is) and even if it's crap at first, the words will start flowing again. Wise man, Stephen King. Kind of works the same for photography I think:)

Yes, I like the new picture. Very calm and yet interesting. Unfortunately, I liken my story (this is the first one I've ever written, I do a lot of poetry though) to the ham bone photo, it's not good. lol. If I ever finish this story maybe I'll post the link for you. Thanks for the comments on this photo.
@pwallis
Are you familiar with the concept behind a "fan fiction"? Basically, you're writing a story based on already existing characters from movies, tv shows, books, whatever. I thought it would be easier, since much of the background work is already done for you. Yeah, I was wrong. lol. Apparently Mr. Stephen King never had writer's block, there is nothing for me to write right now.
Oh, and ironically, after I posted this photo I got e-mail on the fanfiction website from somebody who had read the story and wants to know if I'm going to finish it ever. Talk about pressure!

@mej2011 that's good though, right? I'll have to check out your work!

@pwallis
What's good? The pressure? I suppose, I just feel bad that I literally have NO ideas for this story right now.
Well since you seem interested in viewing the story as well. I guess I'll link it now for you and @janmaki http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7489965/1/Second_Chance
My poetry is much better though. You can find that here: http://allpoetry.com/justme26
I used to have links to it all on my facebook, I don't know where they went.

You two might be my good luck charms. I was able to write and post a chapter of my story today. It's a small chapter, but it's something. Thanks! Hugsies!
