Rain Rain Go Away

Yep. It's raining....again. I guess that means more rain drop shots.
Editing consisted of Picnik's autofix, clarify, 1960's effect, and then I added a purple-ish tint at 50% fade.

I like the added texture the fence (?) in the background has brought to this. And of course the little sparkle from that one rain drop!

@pwallis
Thanks! That is in fact a fence in the back. I tired adding the Orton effect, as it made some of the drops sparkle really nicely, but others were really blown out, so I decided against it.

I'm really drawn to that wheel, which is framed by the branches. Cool.

Ha! I have been trying to get a shot of that wheel, or various parts of that machine for months now. Between the distance away that it is, and the fence in front of it, it's a doozy. Go figure that it would come out semi okay when I'm not even trying.

Did you add little flares to the water drops? Very nice processing.

@jasonbarnette
No. The flares were nature's doing. Thanks!

@mej2011 Dang! Nice job capturing it then.

@jasonbarnette
I don't like it, but thanks!

@mej2011 Really? I love it! Adds a bit of interest and dimension to the photo!

Once I use the clarify tool, it becomes not as my eye saw it, so in my mind it's "unnatural" and bothers me. However, if I didn't use the clarify tool, it would be "soft" looking, which is apparently bad. I just meant I don't like the photo as a whole, not specifically the flare.
November 28th, 2011
@mej2011 Oh...no I understand and completely agree. I like my photos to look as they did in real life, so I see your problem. Was it out of focus, or just soft?
November 28th, 2011
@jasonbarnette
The focus was fine, it just looked soft.
November 28th, 2011
@mej2011 Then forget the clarity tool. YOU are the artist. We are audience. You edit the photo until you get what you want, and then you present it to us. So forget using tools that fotch the photo.

@jasonbarnette
fine, if tomorrow you send me a comment saying that my photo is out of focus or looks soft. i'm gonna kick you.
November 28th, 2011
I think this is a very cool framing and idea.
