I seem to know three types of people. Firstly, there are the people who are uncomfortable with having their photo taken. Second, are the people who are uncomfortable with their photo being uploaded to the internet. Lastly, are people who are uncomfortable with their photo being taken AND are uncomfortable with said photo being uploaded to the internet (not saying I blame them, I would classify myself in that category as well.)
My "Get Pushed" challenge for this week by @joannapayne was "My challenge to you is to take a portrait of a person. I love all your bird and animal photos, but I've been back a month or so, and no human faces!! So I want you to concentrate on a face, not a selfie, of someone else. Maybe in black and white. Courage!"
Sorry Joanna, but this is the best I can do without doing a self portrait.
Editing for this shot consisted of the Ink stamp effect in fotoflexer.
Hopefully next week's challenge won't be so much of a challenge.
This made me smile. Because I totally know what you're talking about. That push must've felt like a true challenge and I like how you solved the problem of not having a willing model. Well done.
@joa
The last two challenges have been hard for me, because they've involved people. I feel bad that I can't do the challenge up to par, but I can't make people cooperate, ya know? Meanwhile, did you just happen to see this, or did Joanna's tag go to you again?
@mej2011 I've been dreading a people related push myself... And I just happened to notice this in my "feed", didn't get a false notification or anything.
@mej2011 Yes, that thought has crossed my mind. ;) I just don't know if I could actually shoot him, because he usually makes me laugh so much that it'd be really difficult to concentrate. Perhaps an un-ICM shot, thanks to giggling and having shaky hands. :D
I feel the same and two of my get-pushed involved people -- selfie and street photo. I think those are the hardest of all photos to take. I like your processing in this one -- it's a wonderful photo!
@taffy
Thanks for the lovely comment! I think a self portrait would be a piece of cake after these last two challenges. I'm sure I've just jinxed myself now.
I actually was going to challenge you to a similar task, but thought that you didn't have too many willing models around, given their lack of appearance throughout your project. I quite like what you did here though. I don't know that I would have thought of such a creative solution to the problem. Love the b&w high contrast too.
@westcoastwallis
Well thank you for NOT giving me a similar task. lol. Clearly I need to get out more and get over my objections with street photography. Fingers crossed that next week goes easier.........
@mej2011 no buts, cool stuff! You could replace the book with some other book, so it would have more meaning for the shot? Like if the title is "Phobias" and the person is hiding behind that book...
@janim
That's a REALLY Good idea! I have slew of psychology books I could have used. I'll keep it in mind for future ideas. I was actually going to re-do my Bibliophobia shot, but time got away from me.
@mej2011 It is. :D There's always a chance of sheer random here - and gigglefits are quite common, too. There are never too many gigglefits in this world. :D
@joa
I'm pretty sure that, by now, anyone I know in Turku would be smart enough to not be "unsuspecting". Besides, you have fire, you can defend yourself, I"m sure.
@mej2011 Hahah, but I'm not sure it'd be wise to defend myself from angels falling from the skies with fire. An angel with her feathers charred might actually be quite a formidable opponent. I think I'm safer with a sturdy umbrella. ;)
@mej2011 Oh, I mostly meant that the angel would bounce off of it. I'm sure she'd have that much control over the fall that she'd come tumbling feet first. :)

I'm glad the notifications seem to have sorted themselves. If you get a people related challenge, just call Jani, he's always willing to pose.
Put duct tape over his mouth, it'll be fine. ;)

Oh, Is that supposed to be of concern? :)
Thanks!
I feel like there was a but coming with that comment......
Johanna isn't up to anything. And, I'm an angel. :)

Ha! Ha! Ha! Oh Johanna, I think you're my new favorite. :)
Whew! Thanks for not being disappointed. And, no apologies needed, it's a challenge I hope to be able to conquer better in the future.
It's great, isn't it?! :)
I agree 100% You've given me a lot of ideas today... Stay tuned.
Angels don't get into trouble. :)

I don't know, I wouldn't want to get on an angel's bad side for poking them....
Oh, I think maybe I'm not an angel. No way I'm that graceful. :)
It seems as though everyone does. Honestly, I'm amazed that there are so many people shots on 365.
