There are three butterflies in this picture. Can you see the third one? I was so excited when I saw these butterflies and had my P&S camera with me as I don't usually see butterflies around here, well at least not long enough to get a picture of one.
That 3rd one is a field crescent butterfly, isn't he? That's terrific that you got all 3 - I've hardly seen any this year - they're at least 2 weeks later than they were here last year. (That's still counting) Love the composition of this.
@milaniet Thank you Milanie. I really don't know what kind the third one is but it is interesting that it might be a crescent one. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll have to look it up.
Very beautiful, Marilyn! I love the surprise of the third one. Not sure if anyone identified these but you've got three Fritillary butterflies on Common Milkweed. I've spotted a lot of these in the past week. Very cool sight to behold!
Awesome capture and what kind of flower is that so I can buy some of those butterfly magnets?? How lucky to get 3 butterflies at once!!!! Wonderful details and lighting!! Instant FAV!
I'm surprised that nobody's mentioned that you have a moth in there too... just below the two right-hand butterflies. Congratulations on your TT placing.
@joemuli@vignouse Oh wow, I made the TT. I'm so excited. Thank you for letting me know and Richard, I didn't even notice the moth in the picture. Thank you for pointing that out to me.
