Another shot of the mossy tree

I have this shot, too, and now I think I like it better than the other one I posted today. Not sure, though. Sigh.

This one has more light, colour and detail. Is it the south or north side of the tree?

@peterdegraaff Peter, both shots were taken on the north side of the tree. I was trying different exposures.

I like them both but this one edges the other one out with more detail, especially of the moss. great job on both of them. we're having the same challenging dreary weather!

I thought that that was lichen, the pale green stuff that also grows on rocks. http://www.hiddenforest.co.nz/lichens/what.htm
Still very cool though. I have always loved that pretty pale green

@5unflow3r Thanks Trina. I haven't heard of lichen but I guess that is what it could be. Someone told me they thought it was moss.

@mittens When I looked it up, to find the article, one place said the lichen and moss are the same, but no where else did I find that. :-) They do seem to both have a similar lifestyle and come from spores, but I think lichen is both from spores and from algae. It was kind of interesting to read...I could always identify it, but never knew anything else. :-) 365 makes you look things up. :-)
