@carole_sandford and @kjarn I was in the wrong. It is a blanket. It simply skipped my tongue. I thought 'plaid' meant 'blanket' as well :D Sorry for the confusion!
Strangely I had no problem understanding what you meant with the word "plaid". We have two words for "blanket" in Norwegian and one of them is "pledd". Pledd is a thick blanket usually made of wool. I checked the origin of the word and both the Norwegian word "pledd" and the English word "plaid" comes from Scottish Gaelic plaide meaning ‘blanket’ :-)
Sorry, that was probably more info than you wanted :-) Oh and both the photo and the "plaid" looks great!
@helstor365 No need for appologies. I find that extremely interesting. In Romanian, we also have the word 'pled', meaning light blanket.
And I was convinced that the word in English also meant blanket.
Well done!
Thank you very much, @juliedduncan @farmreporter @marlboromaam @ludwigsdiana @wakelys @jacqbb @christinav @carole_sandford @kjarn @pyrrhula @ljmanning and @yaorenliu
