It was 30 years ago today that musical genius, John Lennon, was assassinated in New York City. I was very young at the time and so didn't know a lot about him. But as the years have passed, I have listened to The Beatles and John's music and have grown to love it; so much so I visited The Beatles House in Liverpool in the UK when I visited in 1997 and bought a t-shirt from there that I now treasure.
These are my John Lennon vinyls that I've tracked down and a new t-shirt from London that Mum bought me to replace my old one. You see, my old Liverpool t-shirt is beginning to age a bit, so I no longer wear it. So, Mum got me this one to keep my love of The Beatles alive.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
I've enjoyed The Beatles and John Lennon for a long time; and since his death, my love for this music has increased. Amazingly enough, my Grandpa was born in Liverpool and migrated to Australia to look for work in the 1920's. So, I think me going back to see the place was kind of like going to see where my true roots started.
