Until I was cleaning out some drawers, I'd completely forgotten I have dragons!
Two years ago, I had bought Christi Friesen's book on how to hand-sculpt dragons using polymer clay. I made 9 of them in different colors and styles. This one's green. She has a cat's eye glass bead for her eye, and silver-black crackled glass beads in her wings.
My work is not good or fine enough, certainly my dragons are nowhere near as pretty as Christi Friesen's. It's okay if you think this one looks hideous. I've had at least one person tell me when she saw it that it looked like "a bunch of intestines"! That totally cracked me up.
Oh, see the curvy lines on her nose? My fingerprints. Heh. I never intended for them to be there. But polymer clay is soft and whatever I make inevitably winds up with my fingerprints all over it. 8D
How beautiful and well made it looks, Livia! You are such an awesomely talented woman with such a good eye for elegance and simplicity in everything I see you do! Lovely shot of your work!
This is beautifully photographed. The colors are so brilliant and striking. I love the face . . because it reminds me of the vulnerability of a baby fawn. It looks like it feels protected from outside harm in your hand. Of course, that's my own imagination running wild. Nevertheless, it's beautiful . . oh, and I love your fingerprints being on there. It is now marked by the person who brought the clay to life. :)
That's a great little dragon! I love dragons and am definitely gonna get that book and have a go at making some. My polymer clay ends up fingerprinty as well. i know there is a way of preventing it,but can never remember what it is! Lovely shot and focus, too! :-)
Firstly this is such a beautiful shot, so tender is your hand as though you are cradling a baby. Secondly to know that you crafted this amazing piece is so inspiring. Truly beautiful
my goodness - this is a wonderful clay piece - how perfect for Chinese New Year. I love how polymer clay leave your fingerprints....it is after all - handmade.
Well I would be well pleased if I could have made this, is beautiful. You have photoed it so well. Shown all the colours and shapes on it. It has a sad face I think, or maybe young and childlike. Its a baby dragon.
I love your work and your photo. I think it just looks like a one eyed something beautiful and glad you explained what it is. Nice job on both the photo and your dragon.
Exelent photo, as always. Would have been a great image if it had been a purchased objects, the fact that you crafted that yourself takes the whole thing up another level. Truly awsome and I hope we get to see more of your amazing talent.
this is awesome! the one and only time i made something out of polymer clay, i was making a tree, and it ended up being a blot of clay. 8D the artistic in me comes and goes, mostly goes.
I love your clay dragon, I think the fingerprints really give it character too! You're a very talented lady Livia, very creative. Love this shot and am envious of your wide talents!
