After writing the description for yesterday's post, I realized I was reminded of Baccano, a classy, critically acclaimed 2007 anime series that had fantastic jazz music in its soundtrack. The opening sequence was one of the best I'd ever seen, as was the music for it! The jazz number comes from a Japanese all-female jazz band called Paradise Lunch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wInHktd7hU
Baccano had great animation, great characters, great music and great violence. (I did say I like a healthy dose of death and violence in my anime diet, didn't I? 8D ) It's very cleverly written, so you need to pay attention when you watch. Here's another fabulous jazz track from the OST: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SI76wS6tlKs
Wonderful - love the use of negative space here. He looks thoughtful in today's shot :-). I am just listening to the music and like a lot - thanks for the link.
Another great capture. Wish looks like he's just chillin today. Reminds me of a Rolling Stones song "Waiting on a friend"
"Watching girls go passing by,
It ain't the latest thing,
I'm just standing in a doorway,
I'm just trying to make some sense,
Out of these girls go passing by,
The tales they tell of men,
I'm not waiting on a lady,
I'm just waiting on a friend."
A couple of real funky jazz tunes! Very retro! Love Wish's pose for the day! He looks like he's very relaxed and thinking very deep thoughts! Wonderful shot, Livia!
You've done an about face with your pictures, its a long way from bats balls, I originally folllowed you for the BJD's and here they are again.Do you ever take them out side for photos? He is so beautiful.
@monika64 Yes, I've taken my boys out a few times when I met other doll owners. We had fun seeing and taking photos of each other's dolls. Other than those occasions, no, I don't take them out. They're big and heavy (60cm tall and they weigh between 3-4kg) and these dolls are on the expensive side. Although I do have a special padded carrying bag for them, I'd rather not risk taking them out and getting them knocked over or something.
Lovely thoughtful pose. I almost think of him as real, and bet you do as well at times. I have 2 white stuffed bears--Mr. & Mrs. Bear--that I always thought of as real before we got our dog. Used to talk to them all the time... LOL ;-) I really need to check out that jazz, too. Thanks!
A great, big, musical, jazz-inspired, thoughtful and expressive "THANK YOU!" to everyone!
This is the last shot in the series and I am so glad you've enjoyed the photos. The light was natural afternoon sunlight and Wish was being his own beautiful self—I didn't do anything except to press the button on my camera to take the shots. Thank you so much for your time and your comments. I am grateful.
