Oh I don't know, I rather like this. It gives the impression of being right down there in the leaves, being really small and here comes a huuuuge snail! He;s really looking at you!
No ... no failure here!! You got a gorgeous view and beautiful dof. Sorry my friend .... this one's a winnner. Almost positive it will be on pp. This is unique to the max.
@Cherrill@myhrhelper@karenann@swamppoodle You are very sweet and I thank you for your encouragement. But it's Epic Fail because this is not what I wanted. I'm including this shot in my album as a reminder to myself that I will fail sometimes and it's okay to laugh about it. Life goes on!
@myautofocuslife Just because it isn't want you want, or what you pictured, doesn't mean it is not a true, valid, interesting photo! This is truly interesting! Don't sell yourself short!
What shot were you going for honey? I know you do not like it but everyone has an interpretation that is the beauty of this site:0) It is a little dreamlike to me with that soft focus
Don't be disheartened. This is really cool. I like the colours & the shallow DoF. It makes me smile because it feels like if I wait, he'll slowing drag the rest of himself into the shot. :)
I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a rough photo day. It was so cold, windy and rainy here that nothing seemed to turn out right. At least you posted something new, I decided to post another shot from yesterday. Tomorrow is another day!
I'm curious why you are calling this an epic fail? Its nowhere near the realm of epic or fail. I sort of like that only the tentacle things are in focus. No one can be magnificent every day. 8)
Funny description Livia! I hope you get your macro mojo back, but atleast you got something in focus, which is more than I can say for some of my macro epic fails!
I don't know why I wouldn't comment.....I actually rather love this shot. I like the softness to it and the tones and composition. I don't think it's an epic fail. It is rather beautiful in its own way.
LOL, I did laugh, but only because I know how hard it was to shoot the teeny tiny snail i did last week! :) I found they are surprisingly tricky to shoot! It kinda looks like some alien thing stretching out of the undergrowth to take over the world :)
I like it. Great color, dof and perspective. Makes me wanna see more. And as for a fail...this capture is no where near that word. In fact, that snail has a dictionary inside his shell, and it doesn't even contain the word "fail" in it.
I want to say "THANK YOU!" to everyone who decided to comment anyway. I appreciate your kindness. I know there is such a thing as a different point of view and I appreciate your different interpretations of my shot. Thank you for your encouragement! Being the cranky-old-and-stubborn ass that I am, I still think this is a Fail Shot. An interesting Fail, but a Fail nevertheless. It doesn't bother me that much, really. I'm not perfect. Far from it. (For every good shot you see in my album, there were 9-10 horrible ones that went with it which you don't see.) Thank goodness. If I was perfect, I'd be utterly boring and I'd bore myself to death. I'd rather die from an overdose of coffee, cake and chocolate.
love the shallow DoF and the green!
Again, thank you!
