New Year Nuthatch by mzzhope

New Year Nuthatch

We put this little wreath out as a New Year gift for the birds.:)
Great shot Hope! I really like nuthatches! Nice detail and focus, and typical position for a nuthatch - upside down :)

Love it! I don't see them in my yard but do see them occasionally at the wildlife center.

I love these birds! Last year I put a seed wreath out for the birds and the squirrel ended up eating almost the whole thing. Darned critters! ;)

Nice capture. I've just put out a bird feeder in the hopes of encouraging some birds to our small back yard. Not sure if it's going to work though - no action yet!

@jamibann it Will Issi.Takes awhile..but once they find it.You will have constant visitors as long as you keep up with them and feed them every day.Black Oil Sunflower seeds are the best to use to attract the most variety.

Cute feeder (and Nuthatch of course)! We've been making lots of presents for the birds this year! Tomorrow (since it is going to snow about a foot) we are planning to make a peanut garland for the trees out front!

Love this photo. I had one of these stop at the feeder next to kitchen window this afternoon. I didn't recognize it. I guess I usually see it hopping up a tree trunk at a greater distance. You identified it for me. Thanks.

Lovely composition. I like how the nuthatch is positioned on the wreath. It looks very inviting.

I love it that you waited patiently for a bird in the shot. It is touching to see the food out. Here in Aus Michael & I have planted bird attracting native plants so some birds have food all year round.
