@amandal well ask a nerd a Q and you get a nerdy answer. Because the Females, as the ones on the nest with the babes.. need to be camoflauged from predators. The Males, having to impress mates,fight f for the ladies (and territory) are bright to show how macho and strong they are. Arent you glad you asked? lol.
