Gnarly Tree

It was raining and I spotted these wicked trees...and took this shot. Got a bit of rain on the lense. I believe he is reaching for the other tree..!

That's 'pollarding' (a unique pruning style from Europe). Where is this tree?

@thedailyknot that is really interesting! I now have to find out more about them. There are rows and rows of them...I will shoot them when I get a good day. They are located in Western Washington. Thanks!
