Pugmill by narayani

Pugmill

For those who wanted to know what a pugmill is...here you are... A giant sausage machine that turns what's in the bucket in the foreground, to what's in the bucket in the background. Recycling 40-50kg of clay this morning was a good thing to do on a day when I was feeling totally uninspired.
Haha, thanks for enlightening us!

@jodies @365projectorgjenfurj haha! The things you learn with a photo calendar 😄 And my teacher gave me a pep talk so I did manage to get myself into the studio in the afternoon 😊

How fascinating! Have the sausages in the background bucket been processed in any way, or is it simply the physical / mechanical squashing of the lumpy ball into a nice smooth cylinder?

@seacreature there are rotating blades in there Desi that chop and blend - it really is like a giant sausage machine!

Oh yeah now I remember. Our recycled clay was always a little grainy, I hope yours isn't. I think they just give that to us beginners.

@beckyk365 the stoneware I use is a very smooth consistency, the Raku is a bit grainy, bit tough on the hands!
