Thought I'd take a selfie with my 3kg pot to give it some perspective. Not sure if it worked! And now that I've trimmed it, it's only a 2.5kg pot! Painted, and will be carved when it's dried a little more.
I love the blue. Love the photo, too. How much will the pot lose when it's dried and will it lose more when it's fired?
50 years ago a friend hand built a gigantic coil pot. It's planter sized and very heavy. The bottom partly cracked in final firing so we filled it with epoxy or something. I forget. I still have it. I don't move it much. :)
@meotzi that sounds like a big pot! I'm glad you still have it. As it dries it will lose some weight, and again with the firing, but I'm not sure how much...I'll weigh it and let you know 😄
@seacreature thanks Desi, no the colour changes dramatically. It will end up a lot darker and greener (unfortunately). I'd love to find a stain that fires to this colour...
