The ones that I won't be re-firing
I love the sheen on these. They look like they are carved from shells. I didn't know re-firing was a thing one could do. Interesting.

@meotzi thanks Caryn, the sheen comes from burnishing pre firing, and waxing post firing. Re-firing is something I haven't tried before so I'll see what happens 😬

absolutely gorgeous.....I wondered about the sheen too. Do you use wax on your pieces that aren't Raku fired?

@beckyk365 @bf2016 thank you both 😊 I only wax the pieces that I raku or pit fire Becky.

Now These are gorgeous! Love the burnished look. And these are also calling out to be held and stroked!

@narayani When I was last in New Zealand, some years ago, I had the privilege of being taken to an outdoor art gallery somwhere near Auckland. The artist encouraged visitors to touch and stroke all the pieces. We were told that the oils on people's hands gave them a different patina, and of course that made the pieces interactive that one could feel a part of the art. It was a new experience for me, and one that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately I can't recall the artist's name now, but there are some pieces there I have never forgotten

@narayani I was there on business together with a number of other colleagues from around the world. (I work for Infotools in Auckland). One of the organised outings on Saturday was to this gallery, and then on Sunday we had a wonderful picnic at one of the beaches.
