Clipstone Colliery (on a very grey and wet day).
The colliery opened in 1922 and operated until 2003. It was built by the Bolsover Colliery Company, transferred to the National Coal Board in 1947, then operated by RJB Mining from 1994.
The abandoned colliery site, which has the tallest mining headstocks in Europe (60m), will be preserved and turned into a multi-use leisure facility.
