Newcombe steam driven beam engine, it ran from 1795 to 1923 pumping water out of Elsecar New Colliery. At its peak it could draw 600 gallons per minute.
Here we can see the beam engine building with the power end of the bean attached to the pump shaft.
Very interesting looking shot.
