I have been to a wolf sanctury. Wolves are absolutely wonderful, if grumpy creatures. They have an incredibly intense social life which comes out in thier very expressive characters. In a small compound I am sure that is magnified. However, they are exciting to watch and very satisfying to photograph. They look cute, but are very aggressive by our standards. They should be in the wild where possible. One of the aims of this sanctuary is the conservation of wolf habitats so wolves can be wild and free. Sadly it is not possible to return captive wolves to the wild. This lovely specimin, Kaya, is destined to share a pen with one other wolf for the rest of her life. She is well looked after and in beautiful condition. [This photo is a filler from two weeks ago].

Nice capture! They are beautiful animals :) I agree, they should be in the wild. When I visit a zoo it is nice to visit the animals but at the same time I want to set them free!
Well said! What a beautiful creature! I heard them howling once in the wilds of Turkey on a moonlit night in Cappadocia. We were sleeping ina cave and didn't venture out to look!!!!! One of those always remember moments.
