Seafront Homes - Lovely Building

Still processing the shots from my trip to Cornwall over Christmas. Loved this one because the building is so eye-catching. I did not have my fish-eye with me. So used my 50mm Canon USM F1.2 L. I love the feel of this lens. It is excellent for this sort of shot. Minimal distortion, but still gives the impression of going wide. It is great fun to use - as long as you know how to control depth of field!

I deliberately exaggerated the keystone effect in this shot (lay down in the road to get a really low viewpoint - grin). I did that just for fun... I thought it would give the building a grand perspective. I think I succeeded in getting what I wanted.

I have wanted to shoot this building for some time. However, there has always been cars outside. This time I got lucky. I hope you like it - I do.
Beautiful building

Amazing building! I'd want to live right on the end so I can have my own turret!
I have the 50 1.8 and I've had a hard time with the dof. Shooting 'stuff' is fine, but I'm a bit tired of getting noses in focus and nothing else!
Wonderful shot!
