Very cool collection. I had a box of stones from my childhood, and they were lost over the years. Makes me sad! I once visited a jewlery shop with my grandmother and they gave me some raw turmoline. Those are the pieces I miss the most.
oh brings back such great memories, I had a jar of tumbled gem stones that I used to buy at markets, I'd take them out nd admire them, check them in my gem book and put them back in the jar. I still like to collect stones, I wish it was diamonds but generally not.
Lovely stones and so tactile too. Then after collecting them up again there's that ringing sound when they all go back within the jar. Finally, the plumphh of the cork lid going into place once more and the myriad of stones peering through the glass. All that from a simple jar of coloured stones. That's what's in the jar, that timeless distraction. :)
Pennies in one, dog biscuits in another ;-) Love all the beautiful colors of the rocks. Now I'm wondering what ever happened to my collection a few decades ago???
Nice composition. Shows off all the shapes and variety of colours of the stones. I love the feel and look of different stones and have a jar in the bathroom, also one of many different type of shells.
My mom would fill it with seashells. I can't think of a single thing that I would collect in a jar...This will now be in the back of my mind all night while I post.
Nice collection of shiny rocks! I have a similar (but smaller) set - mine live in a bowl :) When I was younger I always wanted one of those rock polishing machines...
Interesting rocks- would love to feel how smooth they are! I have three jars- one holds buttons, the second holds shells and the third holds cottonballs.
