Ah! Got a few of you on this one. It is a paint scraper. Use it take off paint made soft with acid or a blow torch. It lets you get into those parts that other scrapers will not reach (to paraphrase an old advert).
Honorable mentions...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Liz (fotomama) - A bad a&& peg leg. a Net says:-->> Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaahy!
Howard N I will be one of the first tonight to identify this rounded, straight edged, multi angled cornered tool. The clue does not help, as I have again, never seen one of these in my basement where such things are usually found. I was going to say it is some kind of grouting tool, but that would not fit the clue. Maybe an artists knife of some sort, I say maybe, because I really don't know. Mr. Net is digging deeper and has become more difficult of late. hmmmm I think he got me. Net says:-->> Wow! Thats a relief! I thought for a minute you were going to make sense! LOL. BTW, the clue was in the word 'Paint'. So you missed it. Tee hee. Nevermind there is always tomorrow!
Sue Roth - a putty pusher? you know..for crafts and what not? Net says:-->> I have no idea what one of those is, but I assume you know of such a thing. But No! LOL.
Alta D© - a branding iron? Net says:-->> Ohh! Thats gotta hurt. Er... NO! LOL.
Rick Schies - I was going to suggest a gardening tool, like a hoe. Net says:-->> We don't have hoes round here. But all our tools still get good use! LOL. Sorry, an indoor tool, not an outdoor one.
Rev. Fr. Joel Osborne - a tool for finishing the grout around tile. Net says:-->> Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaahy!
Doug O. A medieval torture device that was not used in Pulp Fiction. Net says:-->> Gosh, according to you lot all my gadgets seem to have one or other uses as an implement of torture. You must all think I am some sort of desperate and dangerous sociopath! Hmmm! Now that you mention it... I must try and get out more! LOL.
Paula Cook-Farkas - A flattened paintbrush...I have nothing more clever than that. Net says:-->> OK, that is just wierd. I cannot see it myself. Hey! Maybe its lost its bristles over the years! Er... NO. LOL
Amanda F. - Who knows!? lol It works with dirt. Great shot! Net says:-->> Thanks, even if no-one has a clue?
Vicki K - Isn't it a paint stirrer, you know something that you stir the paint with?? Net says:-->> Ah ha! Now we are getting somewhere. The word paint has come up. Nice one, but wrong! LOL>
Alison Bailey - It looks like a paint scraper to me. I remember my father using a tool like this to get paint off woodwork after he'd softened the paint up with a blow torch. It's designed to get into awkward bits like corners. Net says:-->> At last! Excellent. Well observed. Nice one. Correctomundo, etc.
Sue Wilde - Now I think this is a thingy for fixing the stuff that goes between bricks (whatever it's called). Net says:-->> Good effort and could be (well almost) but you are thinking of a trowel. LOL> Nice try though!
Mike Warren - Paint mixer? Net says:-->> Sorry, er... No. Tee hee.
Carole Imes - SWAG again ;-) Something an artist would use when doing an oil painting. Net says:-->> Possibly, although I have no idea why. SWAG - failed! LOL.
Camille Bisson - that looks like the thing we use to move concrete around with, the thing i call the stomper, but i know that is not what it is called. Net says:-->> Wow. That one I did not see coming. A stomper! Gosh. What a wonderful term. As this is only about 40 mm across, you would have to work pretty hard to move much concrete around. LOL. Nice try.
Bev - Fireplace poker to stir up the ashes. Net says:-->> Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaahy!
Mair - My father had one - not sure what for or what it's called. But I think it's some sort of scraper that scrapes different angles and curves. Net says:-->> OK, that qualifies compared to most other entries! Grin. Nice one.
OK, first time in while I managed to beat most of you. Good work those keen observers who got it.
Thanks for stopping by.
