Well, yes they were screwdrivers. There is lots of ways they could be used. But when it comes down to it there is only one thing they do. Screw! Thats what screwdrivers do.

But they could also be the things we see from all your entries...
precision, small, jewelers, watchmakers, opticians, technicians and lots of other things...

Honorable mentions...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joseph Leotta - small screwdriver set. Net says:-->> Yes! Correctomundo!
Jennifer C - all of the above but they also may be alum keys. Net says:-->> LOL. I think you mean Allen Keys. Those hexagonal inside screw head things. Net says:-->> Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaahy!
Rick Schies - I have a few of them lying around in a drawer somewhere. Net says:-->> Isn't that just what we all do? I have several packs! LOL>
Howard N - What we see in this image is a quartet of devices that are used to screw things up. I like the miniature version you folks have on that side of the pond. Here in the states, as my wife might say, all it takes is me and three of my friends to accomplish the same end! Net says:-->> Ha, I guess we spotted the fact that is what men do... Ditto with the comment above. LOL>
Kathy A - I think they might be used to punch holes in things. Net says:-->> Actually no, but there is a great possibility that something like that may be used for hole punching. But not with a little swively bit on top. So, a Doohicky Award!
Amanda Thepanda - I agree with Mike - Jewellers screw drivers. I have a set right here! Net says:-->> Ah! Nothing handier for doing your 365 work than a pack of precision screwdrivers. LOL.
Bev - Screwdrivers for glasses repair (I own a kit!!) Net says:-->> OK. I 'see'.
Paula Brumbe - I know this but cannot think of the name. It is used for tapping and making small guide holes for nails, screws and the like. Net says:-->> Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaahy!
christiq - i think they're your pet alligator's toothpicks =P Net says:-->> Damn. I have been hiding that little critter for years. Finally I have been outed! LOL> Nice one. A Doohicky award!
argie cool shot ... tricky ... =) Net says:-->> Er... no, its not. They are screwdrivers. LOL.
Alta D© - Nicely shot screw drivers. Net says:-->> Why thank you! LOL. They are still screwdrivers! LOL.
Fun. Thanks for coming by.
This knob (which is upside down) Is actually off my washing machine (or maybe my dishwasher)...the rounded hole bit is so that, when I turn it, I can see the number it's up to.
