A whizz-by shot as we drove along State Highway 1 on the Huntly bypass. I spotted this fence line highlighted by the setting sun and quickly took a couple of shots from the passenger seat as we sped by. At the moment I love this photo :-) but will probably be fed up of it in a month's time ;-)
(Edit: Looks better on black if you have the time. Just looked on my phone and this is better on a big screen or a tablet. 🙂)
This is an amazing shot of the gorgeous light.
I wonder what it would be like if you did a tad of processing to bring out the shadows of the rest of the scene to give some detail to the mountain.
It's A FAV!
@farmreporter Thanks so much for your comment, the fav and the suggestion about the shadows Wendy. I was trying to achieve a contrast to highlight the sliver of light on the ridge fenceline against the hills. On my PC I can still see a lot of tree detail in the shadows so I think my monitor must be brighter than some screens.
I know what you mean about monitors. I actually think that the monitor I am using is darker than my regular one so you are probably right.
I sometimes get frustrated with voting - and the way digital photography is viewed. The true glory of the photo can sometimes only be viewed full size but it is not often that members take the time to expand the thumbnail.
Thumbnails are changing the way we photograph ...
Photographers are now encouraged to open their apertures, focus on the main subject, eliminate distractions in order for those who view the thumbnail can 'like' the photo as they scroll past.
Gone are the days of contemplating the picture in front of them.
@farmreporter I know what you mean Wendy. Sometimes when I'm pushed for time I know I'm guilty of only clicking on thumbnails that catch my eye to see a larger view. Smartphones and apps like Instagram also have a lot to answer for. I like to think, though, that most regular 365ers appreciate photography for the art it is and consider their votes carefully, but I may be wrong.
