This morning I finally got my lens out of the rice (I spilled coffee over it on saturday). It needed to come out since I had to test it today. If it wasn't working properly I had to buy a new one for my trip to Lisbon on Monday. I took a couple of test shots at home and it seemed ok. A bit though on the zoom movement, but the pictures seemed ok on the little camera screen. I told my mom that we had to go to the forest to walk the dog so I could test it some more. And I did. Took about 40 shots of different things with different settings. And it seems to be working fine. Can't say if the quality is still the same as before, but it seems to be. No blurry pictures and the focussing seems to be ok to. So I think the rice trick worked. Hopefully it will keep working properly, but only time will tell.
An expensive item to replace so glad you seem to have been very lucky, rice is brilliant stuff!! Lovely textures and love that rich rust colour of the wood
Glad to hear that the rice worked! It stands to reason that it did. I've had several friends save their wet cell phones with that trick. Nice texture shot!
