This qualifies as ETSOOI... the subject and light were awesome... but I could NOT get the focus... this might work better large on a black background... then again, maybe not ;p
tx so much for all the lovely comments (and faves) on my back alley shots and the little princess :)
@maggiemae well... that's because i couldn't get the focus right - nothing wrong with you at all! at the bottom is a spider with, i think (but i don't really know), two egg sacks... the dark blobby things towards the top are baby spiders... the light was fabulous... i had my macro lens on manual focus, the camera on a tripod, and timed the shutter to minimize shake... but still could not get the focus spot on...
Its challenge time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hmmmmmm, now let me think ;)
I know, we have spoke about the 100 strangers project before, so time to get your first one. A street portrait of a stranger, find out their name and a little about them etc. and something they think is interesting about them. Have fun :)
@38mm oh gawd... just when i'd gotten over the anxiety attack induced by dropping my two younger boys off at sleepaway camp for the first time... ok - challenge accepted... off to think about your challenge!
@nod ha!!! didn't you read my description? i was very frustrated at not being able to nail the shot of the perfect subject with the perfect light... so i processed it into a chaotic mess... no worries... i'm under no illusions about this one! :)
@nod i'll try... i really like your shots - although at times, i find them a bit, uhm, inaccessible maybe? but to me that makes them all the more whorthwhile for looking at...
@northy An artist friend of mine like to mock that I just "design" a pic, not paint a painting (nothing behind them except something nice to look at). This is true for some of the photos I took and post. Sometimes I just like the way they turn out in post processing. Just some nice postcard pics without any deeper meaning :-)
@nod well, i think there is a difference between a snapshot and a photograph... i mean anyone can point a camera at the eiffel tower and say they have the shot... but it takes skill and talent to make it interesting...
