Back Alley Blues by northy

Back Alley Blues

So named because the building on the right is painted a vivid blue... I was determined to keep it in colour, but it just didn't work for me... (surprised?)

A possibly entry for the Street Photography Now challenge, although it's still early in the week and I'm not prepared to commit as yet...

Thanks everyone for the views, the lovely comments and the favs on my recent photos :)
Only one way in that alley...away from the blues? Nice one!

Hi @northy, for your get pushed challenge I want to you to take a photo in the style or spirit of your favorite artist who's main medium is not photography!

I like this. The intensity of the blacks come throught and give it a lot of character. Love seeing that guy through the window.

I like the contrast of the brick vs. metal siding, and then the lightness of the openwork staircase. Nice composition.

I love the b&w processing on this, very grainy and contrasty which seems to suit the subject!

Great shot!

Is that you in the top of the door? Or is it someone inside? I like that part best in this shot.
September 9th, 2012
@sailingmusic It's someone inside - I had to wait a bit to get this as he kept walking in and out of the frame... It's my favorite part too :)
