I'm not entirely certain where the Italian comes from altho' I am inclined to blame Beachradish because she posted a recipe for Spaghetti alle Vongole the other day...
And now I'm feeling a bit like Jamie Lee Curtis' character in a fish called Wanda... love the sound of the words - haven't a clue what they mean ;p Apologies to all my friends in Italy, my sister-in-law (who happens to be Italian) and anyone else of Italian descent!
Did you know that when I do a user search for Northy - four of your exact same profiles come up? Awesome lighting here, and the poor little screw doesn't stand a chance, does he?
I also wanted to let you know that I have to opt out of the Get Pushed challenge for a bit as I am going on hols (wahooo!). Will let you know as soon as I can jump back in:)
I find the lighting a bit too harsh in this north, if I'm honest with you, but i know what you were aiming for and the restrictions we all have with our make do stuff, the focal point and contrast is just fabulous, and the detail of the 'screwed guy 'comes out so very well!
Ha! Love the idea, the word, the shine, shadows, etc. I was actually thinking of doing some shots with italian titles, so I can finally learn the language!!! :D
OK, Ms northy, since I am your get pushed partner this week, I would like you to think of a photo from a fellow 365'er that has inspired you. I then would like you to recreate that photo, but do it in a way that the end result becomes your very own! I know you are a busy working mom, so this gives you something challenging, but has a lot of scope, without having to send you out in the dead of night capturing light trails and stuff like that :-) Have fun!
Hi, Northy! Missed visiting your project while on holiday. Attaccare (double 'c') means to attack (physically, verbally whatever). It also mean to stick, to glue (attaccare un francobollo = to stick a stamp etc).
Bravo for exploring an unknown territory = a foreign language, and for the great shot. Good interpretation of the theme,; I also love the pov and lighting.
@mara19500 tx mara! i'm correcting the spelling :) i'm really leery of relying on google translate... i've seen some rather crazy results from doing that elsewhere...
