for get pushed this week @obmcreations challenged me to do a monochrome shot in anything but white or black... i am not sure this works tho'... the doll house kettle is sitting on my red spoon rest... but the spoon rest is reflecting so much light it ends up looking more white than red in some spots... so what think you - does this count as monochrome? or need i figure a way to eliminate the white?
methinks it works (as someone who's done the same colour assignment). the tiny kettle is almost the same red as the spoon rest but it still stands out. i think the reflectiion is a bonus. see, you're good whether b/w or coloured. you da bomb!
Oh what a gorgeous teapot. A beautiful subject and I think handled well. Sure, you could get rid of some of the highlights, but I think this is an excellent response to the challenge. There are very few whitish areas that I don't think they draw much attention at all. The reflection is awesome.
PS. Thanks for choosing my favourite colour, too. :D
I think it's basically monochrome. I'm sure there's a way to either set the lighting so that there's no glare or cloning out/toning down the white. But I really don't think that's necessary. Good job!
So strange to see a colour shot in your album but the red looks great in the calendar. I don't think the white looks bad. The reflection wouldn't be as pronounced if it wasn't there xx
