today's challenge was "sooc" - aka "straight out of the camera"... as in no post processing...
there is a lot of debate about whether the concept of "sooc" can really exist... because, as it happens, the camera does a lot of "processing" for you...
the thing is, a year or so ago one of the camera settings challenges forced me to learn about how i can control the various bits of processing my camera applies to images when shooting in jpeg... turns out i can set my camera to monochrome and mess with things like sharpness and contrast BEFORE i take the picture... for this i upped contrast, but decreased sharpness a bit... and of course i chose aperture, shutter speed, iso, etc... it is completely sooc...
if i could have done one bit of editing it would have been to clean up the dust spots... i couldn't seem to eliminate them ahead of time...
This is brilliant - as always - Northy... there is an interesting discussion to be had about "SOOC"... given that the true intention is impossible to achieve in digital photography... or any other for that matter!
@vignouse@orangecrush@lwain tx folks... with respect to the concept of SOOC, well - no matter how you look at it, SOMEONE has to choose the camera settings... so why not me? ;p
