Here's mud in your eye! by northy

Here's mud in your eye!

Wendy (@wenbow) challenged me this week to shoot a water splash, in colour (yikes!)... After a miserable four hours attempting a water drop shot last spring, I swore I would never do it again... but it occurred to me that I now have a macro lens, and I have light, and it might come off a little better... technically, this isn't a splash, so I don't consider it to be my push photo... but I liked it, so I thought I would post it anyway :)

A kiddy sport shot in my main album:

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my back alley shots from yesterday... I found it so interesting to read why different folks prefer different approaches to the processing of that image, and why!

@wenbow - i've been practicing for a water splash... no splash here, and i realize you didn't limit me to size (meaning a swimming pool or puddle sump shot would work too), but i wouldn't have done this were it not for your push, so thought i'd tag ya anyway :)

How did you get such a big drop! I can't think how you did this! But it is very clever!

Argh... Pirates galore on 365 this week. Nice drop. You did well. I can only commiserate you about water splashes after spending the same amount of hours trying for them myself last year! You have the makings though so I'm sure you'll pull it off.

This is so awesome Northy! Not a splash but an awesome reflective water drop, probably even better than a splash.

Brilliant idea to use a surface like that! May be not what you were after but its more than just an 'accidental' effect. Love it!
