design or architecture? by northy

design or architecture?

this week, @livvy challenged me to shoot an abstract architecture shot... in COLOUR...

sooooo... i've done plenty of abstract architecture... but never in colour... and thinking about those images, they would not work in colour...

however, there is this wonderful building here in Toronto known as the OCAD Tabletop which i thought might work... but this feels a bit more like design than architecture... thoughts?

here are a bunch of photos of the building so you can see the whole thing...

I love this! As for the challenge, not an expert, so can't say, but I like the black and white with the pop of red! Very nice!

Looks like a super modernist building. Great shot. Black and red work perfectly together. Very Bauhaus.

The processing is excellent. You extracted just the perfect piece for the challenge. I have to check this building out next time I'm in Toronto. It looks quite unique.

AGO or the building next to it, methinks. you turned it upside down? very clever.

Awesome shot !!

@summerfield tx Vikki... the OCAD tabletop is just south of the AGO... this is not "upside down" per se... it's the underside of the tabletop... looking up from under the south end... hard to explain if you don't know the building... if you look at the first picture in the link you'll see the red bit... my shot is looking up to where the red bit intersects with the overhang...

With your additional of color into your b&w shots, this building may have "elevated" your photography. :)
