when i was shooting the frozen bubbles this past week i decided that i wanted to put myself in one of them... so... this...
getting the blending to work was a pain in the a$$ and i'm not entirely sure i succeeded... i mucked about with "blend if" in PS without much luck... so i ended up doing a lot of cloning and painting of light and dark - which i think mostly disappeared into the general murkiness of the image... at the end of the day, i'm still not sure i've got this blending thing down...
as always when i am stuck i do a run thru in analog fx in the hopes that the textures and toners help hide my blending fails...
on a more positive note, the new "select subject" functionality in PS is awesome!!!!
looks like a really skilled piece of work to me. I really like that we have to guess at your emotion about being inside that bubble. You achieved your intention excellently.
Definitely great on black and I am impressed with your processing - even if you think it's not perfect it's definitely not bad ( an understatement I might add) :)
